Dancing Back Into the Swing of Things

Dance Concert is over. Student Piece Rehearsals are over. Doing Warm up and going straight into practicing the dance is over. It's all over.

Classes are so weird and different now that Dance Concert is over! I don't have student piece rehearsals anymore (which stinks cause it was so darn fun!). I definitely would like to audition again next year, because I absolutely LOVED all the rehearsals, and the whole process. I loved the choreographer that I was dancing for, and the other dancers were so fun to hang out with. It was just like we would do the dance a couple times, then take a "chill" break (as the choreographer called it), to hang out and chat, then we'd do it a couple more times, and take another chat break and so on until our hour was up! I loved the dance, it made me happy to practice and perform. It was cheerful and good hearted, SO MUCH FUN!

The ballet class of mine that did a dance for Concert was ballet 3. Which is also the class that I do en pointe. Since we were doing barre and going right into the dance, I was only getting to do barre en pointe. Now my feet are trying to get used to 90 minutes of pointe time again!

We didn't have modern last week, due to snow. AGAIN. I am a little nervous about what we will do in modern now that we are done working on the dances, but still combined. I mean, there's a big gap between Modern 2 and Modern 3. I'm sure it will work out.... Somehow

Job Well Done...

As you should {hopefully} know, dance concert was yesterday! It was a blast, and I think I danced pretty well. I would show you picture if this weren't a world full of stalkers and robots, bur unfortunately it is, so I don't want to show any of them.

Anyway, I only made 2 mistakes {yay}. In the first show, during my modern dance, we had to take turns getting onstage and doing our signature lines, then run off. Well then we all run back on backwards and do the main phrase. When I was running backwards, I accidently collided with the scrim {big oops}. I just bumped into it, so I didn't fall over.

Then before the second show, the director came back to us to tell us that she wanted us to be just as full of energy before the second show as we were the first. So I pumped myself with so much energy, that when I came onstage, I gave a big forceful swing of my scarf, and accidently dropped it {little oops}.

So now for fun things that happened:

Me and a bunch of my friends went out for dinner, and me and two of my friends all wanted pizza hut, so we ordered all together. We were confused about the combos, and ended up buying 9 breadsticks, 3 Large drinks, and 3 cheese pan pizzas, when we meant to get 3 breadsticks, 3 medium drinks, and 3 cheese pan pizzas. Plus, one of them didn't think it would be enough food, so she also ordered a bean burrito! I gave 1 breadstick to another friend, but that still left us waisting half of our drinks, 4 of our breadsticks, and the bean burrito.

I somehow became the best bun maker at the theater, and so everybody wanted me to do their hair.

We played chinese freeze tag, improv dance style. We could hear the music from the different dances very clearly, so we all improved to that music, and played freeze tag.

We all played Truth or Dare [Nothing Innapropriate]. The funniest one was when my friend dared another girl to fill a cup with water and take it to the boy in the class and tell him that it was everlasting life water, and that when he drank it, he would discover his true love (the dare wasn't completed until he actually drank it). I dared a girl to do the funky chicken dance on a chair. And I had to tango with the boy in our class as a dare.

I think that it was a pretty sucsessful show :)

Yep! New Layout!

For quite a while now, I have been looking to find a new background. When I first got it, it was very unique and nobody else had it. Well people are starting to use it now, and I was getting tired of it, so I decided to change backgrounds.

What I do on my other blog (Dollsnwool.blogspot.com), is I have a standard background, but then at Holidays, for the week or so, I change it to something that goes with the Holiday, and then when the holiday is over, I go back to my standard background.

*HEADER COMING SOON!!!!!*

TONS OF SNOW!!!

Yep, dance is canceled. But let's be optimistic here! NO SCHOOL!!!!!!! When my brother and I woke up, there were sleds by our beds! I'm sad and a little nervous about class being canceled, but I'm looking forward to a fun day in the snow with my best friend!

Definitely on the Angel's Side

Just wanted to say real quick, I am hoping that it WON'T snow. My little brother and I were bored, so I was telling him about the goofy snow superstitions. He thought it was really funny and wanted to do the main 5. So let's just say, I followed him around for 30 minutes watching him:

1. Flush ice down the toilet
2. Put a white crayon in the freezer
3. Put a spoon under his pillow
4. Put his pajamas on inside out
5. Run outside (with his pajamas inside out) and do a snow dance.

Since I don't want it to snow, I:

1. Flushed a glass of water down the toilet
2. Put a black crayon in the freezer
3. Put a fork under my pillow
4. Put my pajamas on the right way
5. Ran around my living room and did a DON'T snow dance.

His dance chant goes like this: Hoonga Hoonga Hoonga HA!   LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW! Hoonga Hoonga Hoonga HA!   LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW! Hoonga Hoonga Hoonga HA!   LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!

Mine was: Hoonga Hoonga Hoonga HA! DON'T LET IT SNOW! DON'T LET IT SNOW! Hoonga Hoonga Hoonga HA! DON'T LET IT SNOW! DON'T LET IT SNOW! Hoonga Hoonga Hoonga HA! DON'T LET IT SNOW! DON'T LET IT SNOW!

Obviously I don't really believe in superstition (neither does my brother), we were just doing it to be silly, and I'm sure we will both say a prayer tonight for it to either snow or not.

I want one thing, but I want the other

I'm having one of those angel, demon moments. You know, where the angel on one shoulder is telling you that you want one thing, while the demon on the other shoulder is telling you another. Here's my dilemna.

Me: It's supposed to snow 3 inches tonight! Do I want it to snow or not?

Angel: If it snows, then dance will be canceled, and you really need that one last class to practice the ballet dance before dress rehearsal on Friday!

Demon: If it snows, you'll get to go sledding with your best friend! AND you'll get school off!

Me: What should I do?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Angel: Pray that it won't snow!

Demon: Where your pajamas inside out, put a spoon under your pillow, and flush ice down the toilet!

There you have it. Sadly, my mom says that it's GONNA snow. But God can make anything happen, and I'm starting to lean over to the angel. Our dance will be an absolute MESS otherwise.

1 Week, Not Quite Ready...

WOW, dance concert is exactly 1 week from today. And honestly, I'm excited but also really nervous. I am in three dances. Ballet, Modern, and a Student Piece. I know the dances very well. We have our costumes for ballet and Modern, and for the student piece, the choreographer is going to purchase some V-neck shirts and we will wear black leggings. Pretty simple, But for some reason, I just don't feel ready.

My Birthday is Coming UUUUP!

Yes! You read the title!! My birthday is coming up!!! Today is the one month mark and on February 2, I will officially be 13!!!! Right now, I'm hoping for a new pair of ballet slippers. There isn't really anything in particular that I want right now, but my slippers are getting holes in them (despite the fact that they are leather!). I currently have a bloch dancesoft, which are full sole leather. But I really want to change to a split sole canvas.

Also! Our new dog is here! Her name is Maddie, and she is a black labrador collie mix. She technically belongs to my little brother, but I don't care. Anyway, here are some pictures!

P.S. Dance concert in less than 2 weeks away! And we go back to dance from break tomorrow!
