Dancing from your heart, There's no better place to start. Dancing is an art, But you have to dance your part. Whether the music is soft or loud, If you know exactly how, You will be dancing on the clouds.
Hi guys! My name is Jasmine. I'm 13 years old and I'm going into 8th grade! I LOVE to dance! I am currently attending dance at FSPA (Franklin School of Performing Arts.) We are on Summer Break right now, but in the fall, I will be taking Ballet,Tap, Modern, and Jazz. I have been taking ballet for 11 years, Tap for 7 years, Modern for 5 years, pointe for 3 years, and Jazz for 2 years. I'm also in the Performance Company. Which means I get to dance with my company group at Fairs and Festivals around town. You have to audition to get in, and take Ballet, Modern, and Jazz. I also will be assisting 2 Creative Movement classes, and Tap 1. This is my 4th year assisting Creative Movement, but my first year with Tap 1! I'm so excited to get to learn more teaching methods!! Please enjoy my blog! ♥Jasmine >
I love to dance, and when I got into the whole blogging thing, I immediately knew I wanted a blog about dance. Dancing on Clouds was originally called On Your Toes, and was made in Spring 2010, with a partner. Later that partner got to busy, and I got bored with the name. Dancing on clouds is my own "Journal" about dance. I tell of all my dreams and where my heart (and feet!) take me. It takes a special person to want to read about my love of dance, because often times it is confusing. So I wanted to be able to tell people about my passion, by letting them choose what they wanted to know. And I enjoy posting, even if nobody reads my posts. The name Dancing on Clouds came from my passion of not just going to class and do what the teacher says, but going into my bonus room when I'm home alone, and being able to dance from my heart. I truly believe that dancing on clouds is where talented dancers really begin. Please enjoy my blog (sorry about my confusing ballet spellings and descriptions.) p>
I LOVE when people send feedback to me! If there is anything that you would ever like to say, then PLEASE either: 1. Leave a Comment on one of my posts or 2. Send me an E-mail at imdancingonclouds@gmail.com>
Happy 4th of July! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Jasmine! My friend Grace told me all about your blog! I started reading your blog a few days ago, and i'm already loving it! You sound like a great person, and Grace told me you won a reward from your dance school. Is that true? I am also a dancer on pointe, and I also LOVE modern, tap, and being on my drill (dance) team. I'm 11. You are 13, right? Anyway, do you have any vacations this summer, or are you doing any intensives? Have a great day!

Oh, and I also LOVE the poem at the top!

Hi Tatum!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you love my blog! Yes, I did win an award for lots of effort in my dancing :). Also, yes I'm 13.
As for vacations, I went to Indiana for a couple days (I just got home), and I'm getting ready for my studio's intensive! It's 5 hours of dancing a day everyday for two weeks!!!
♥Jasmine
That sounds so fun!! I don't get to dance til august, but I will dancing for that whole month so I guess it's worth the wait. Also happy birthday to your brother! You sound like a hardworking dancer with winning that award! Is that the only award at your dance school? Just wondering. They don't give out any awards at my dance school, so I think thats really cool! Do you know what YAGP is? Do you compete in it?
ReplyDelete-Tatum :)
Hehe! The director at my studio came up with the idea to give out awards but I think that sometimes other dance studios do them to. I do know what the YAGP is, however I don't like to compete through dance :)
