Trying More New Stuff, and a Little bit about Classes

Wow! This is cool! I can e-mail posts to this blog! Anyway, here's kind of a test post.
So, we go to go back to class last night! YAY! We heard our new music for the ballet 3\3x dance. It's pretty cool, but it gets REALLY fast, and I have NO CLUE how we are gonna dance to it at the end. The good news is, is that we most likely will not have to do pirrouettes.
And then at tap, we got to go across the floor, which hasn't happened in FOREVER, so it was nice to go back to regular stuff. At the beginning, we all got to talk about what we did over spring break. One girl went to the bahamas, another on a disney cruise, and another went to New York and saw lots of broadway shows! I stayed home and went to an art museum. Normally, that would be great, but unfortuanately, there big exhibit was about hinduism, and painting and sculptures of Vishnu, which I didn't find wildly exciting.
Anyway, that's about all I have to say for now. Hopefully I'll do a longer post later this week.

Decided to do a little bit of Cuteifying

Hey Everyone!

Ask you can see (unless you are reading this from your post feed box on your dashboard, and if you are, please come to my actual blog!), I've changed the text font, and colors to make this blog a bit cuter. Hope you like it!

Also, another new thing! You can know follow my blog through e-mail! That means that if you don't have a google account, but don't want to miss any posts, you can just *bourre* your way over to my sidebar, below the follower box, type in your e-mail address, press submit, and SHABANG! You will now get an e-mail every time I post!

As for dance updates, we were on spring break last week, so I don't have any new ones, but classes start back up TOMORROW, and we will be continuing to work on our recital dances, and hopefully start the ballet ones!  And I apologize for the run-on sentence.

*Ballet joke, sorry if you don't get it.

How Sweet the Sound...

We started working on our modern dance last week... We have absolutely BEAUTIFUL music. I have to say, this is the prettiest song that I have ever danced to... Lets take a walk throught the rest of my modern songs, and you'll understand why...

This was my very first year of Modern, I was only 9, and my class consisted of two other 9 year olds and a bunch of 13 year olds.  However, I'm very tall for my age, so I looked 13 when I was 9 (supposively). Let's just say, I looked really stupid.... It was a nice song though, and the costume was pretty.

The next year was my first year at the studio I'm currently at, where we do themed recitals. We did the Wizard of Oz (with our own twist!). It was more like a combination of The Wizard of Oz, Wicked, and The Wiz. My class was "Green", it wasn't the most desirable dance ever, but I've had worse.

And then we get to last year... The shadow dance... Wow.. Wow... I couldn't find the song anywhere on the internet, so I took a clip from the Recital DVD, added a really strange effect to it so you can't really see us, and I guess if you try really hard, you can kind of see the choreography... But anyway, yeah, that was my least favorite dance that I ever performed. Someone has to take the icky parts though... otherwise there'd be no show.

And now we get to this year. I have the most beautiful song IN THE WORLD!!! This is just a clip from it, I couldn't find the real thing, but here ya have it!

Happy Blogiversary to ME!

Yes! It's my blogiversary! My FIRST blogiversary! Now for the big speech:

Well... actually, I don't have a big speech to share with you... Sorry... BUUUUUUT! I don't think that most people have read my "About this Blog" column on my sidebar! Soooo.... I'm gonna post it here, because it tells the story and origin of this blog.

I looooooooooooooooooove to dance, and when I got into the whole blogging thing, I immediately knew I wanted a blog about dance. Dancing on Clouds was originally called On Your Toes, and was made in Spring 2010, with a partner. Later that partner got to busy, and I got bored with the name.

Dancing on clouds is my own "Journal" about dance. I tell of all my dreams and where my heart (and feet!) take me. It takes a special person to want to read about my love of dance, because often times it is confusing. So I wanted to be able to tell people about my passion, by letting them choose what they wanted to know. And I enjoy posting, even if nobody reads my posts.

The name Dancing on Clouds came from my passion of not just going to class and do what the teacher says, but going into my bonus room when I'm home alone, and being able to dance from my heart. I truly believe that dancing on clouds is where talented dancers really begin.

And lastly, I want to send a big, heartfelt thanks to all my readers! You guys are the best!

Winter Jam 2011- Tour Spectacular!

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I've posted! I been really busy, on Friday I went to a sleepover party, on Saturday I had to babysit, and on Sunday, I went to a concert! The concert, winter jam, was SUPER awesome! Winter Jam is a Christian Music concert that travels to 40 different cities, and is only $10 at the door! How cool is that? My dad always takes me and my younger brother (my older brother dislikes music, and my mom stays home with my brother). This year, the concert included Jason Castro, Chris August, Sidewalk Prophets, Red, Newsong, KJ-52, Francesca Battistelli, David Crowder Band, Kutless, and The Newsboys! So here are the concert highlights.

My Dad has a very good friend who works for Winter Jam, and gave us guest passes! That meant we got to go in and get seats an hour before the public. I stuck mine on my purse, and as you can see, it ripped :P

This is what the arena looked like when we went in! This picture only shows about 1\6 of the whole arena!

Then after a couple hours of sitting (and shopping at all the tables! You'll see what I got later), the show started! Jason Castro was first, then Chris August. Chris August was really good! He sang this really funny song about how he loves candy! This video is of him singing it at another show. Except, in the middle of when he did for us, a bunch of people ran out dressed up like M&M's, and through candy in the audience! (not my video)

After Sidewalk prophets sang, the real show started! Red was up first, and they were AMAZING!!! They were pretty loud, but as you can see, the had super cool effects! (not my picture)

Next up was Newsong, and then Francesca Battistelli! I LOVE Francesca Battistelli! She was AWESOME! She sang the most beautiful song for us off of her new album! I loved it! She also played the Ukulele in her new song "This is the Stuff!" It was really funny. Anway, you can listen to the song that I really liked here. (not my video)

David Crowder band was up next! They were really fun! Especially cause at the end of there show they were like "Christians, Jesus Lovers, there's something we need to do together, you're all southern, so here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna hoedown together!" Which immediately led to tapping toes and clapping hands as they sang "I Saw the Light". It was really fun! (not my picture)

Intermission was after David Crowder Band, so I got a slice of pizza. It was yummy :o) As we ate, Tony Nolan talked. He's there to bring people to Christ, but since my whole family already believes in Jesus, we already knew everything that he said. (not my picture)

KJ-52 mostly did some inbetweeners, and not really an actual section of the show. He was really funny. After he sang a song, Kutless sang. They were good, and they had a cool setting. (not my pictures)

Finally was the Newsboys! They were the last band to perform, and they got to sing the most songs. They had some really cool special effects, including when the Bass player and the Keyboardist got up on those platforms and floated OVER the Audience! It was so awesome! (not my picture)

But what really brought down the house....

...Was when Duncan, the drummer, did this. The is a video of when he performed at another Winter Jam show. I couldn't believe my eyes! It was practically the most amazing thing I have ever seen!

After the concert, we learned that Francesca Battistelli was going to do a signing! She's one of my favorite artists, so (of course) I hopped in line! It was very rushed, we were only allowed to have her sign one item per person, and we weren't allowed to take pictures with her. BUT I STILL ME FRANCESCA BATTISTELLI! I wanted to ask her the question that I have always wondered about her, which was how long did it take her to learn to spell her full name. I was really nervous\excited, so all I said was "Hi" and "Thank You".

Here's the T-shirt I got! As you can see, it says "Beautiful Beautiful" on it, which is my favorite Francesca Battistelli song (next to Angel By Your Side, but they didn't have any T-shirts that said that, and I hadn't even heard the song when I picked it out.)
And here's where she signed it!!! Did any of you go see Winter Jam? If so, please comment and tell me about it!

AAAAACK! Descisions :(

Ugh! Don't you hate having to make descisions? See, here's my dilemna: One of my super awesomely amazing friends invited me to her birthday party, but the problem is, it's the same night as the girls only lock-in at my church, which is my FAVORITE event of the year. I definitely want to go to my friend's birthday party (although I'm really sad to that I have to miss the Lock-in). But then, my friend wants me and two other girls to skip dance on Saturday morning. Well, you all know how dedicated I am to dance, and a makeup class isn't really an option because:

Normally, since I'm Ballet 4, they would have me go to either 3x or 4x but....

I'm in 3x so it wouldn't be a makeup

4x is during my tap class

So, then they just go to the closest level possible:

I'm in one of the Ballet 3 classes

The other one is during my ballet 4 class

Ballet  2 is during my Ballet 3 class

Ballet 1 is during my modern class

I help out with Pre-ballet

So the closest we could get is Creative Movement for ages 6-7 (LOL!) or, I'd have to go to Ballet 5, which is a little (OK, a lot) above my head.

So yeah, that's my dilemna. I'll probably talk to my friend and ask her what we'd actually be doing on Saturday, and see if I might be able to sneak out to ballet class.

Spring Has Sprung...

Spring has sprung
The Grass has riz
I wonder where the flowers is?

Hehe, that's my ballet teacher's favorite poem. He recites it a lot in the spring. That's also what life in Tennessee is like right now! Let's just say we had the shorts, babydoll tops, and sandals out 2 weeks ago, and I haven't warn my heavy jacket since the middle of January. How awesome is that? No flowers yet though :P

Not YET at least, my family got the tree in our front yard chopped down by the electric company, but they said they will replace it with the tree of our choice. So far we are either getting a fruit tree (apple or pear), or a cherry blossom tree! I hope we get the Cherry blossom tree! Here's what they look like!

Aren't they pretty?
