"It's what I've always wanted to do, to show the laughter, the fun, the joy of dance." ~Martha Graham

Saying Good Bye...

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:Or Christ, that person is a new creation. The old has gone, the new is here.  -2 Corinthians 5:17

Well, we aren't exactly a new creation YET. But the old is about gone, and the new is about here. And next year is a new creation. Today has made me think of that verse. Anyway. 2010 has been a FABULOUS, blessed year. I have learned so much, and it's just been all around wonderful. I'm sad to see such a pleasent year up and gone. As a quick reflection on the year, I want to tell you some highlights\favorite memories from each month of 2010.

January: First year performing in the Advanced Student Concert at dance

February: Turning 12

March: Getting this blog!

April: I got my 2010-2011 schedule and saw that I got to move up to Modern 3! Since my studio changed the levels, modern 2 would be like modern 3, modern 3 like modern 4, etc. So when I moved up from Modern 2 to Modern 3, it was like moving up from Modern 2 to Modern 4.

May: Completed my first year of middle school

June: Eating dinner in between shows at the recital with all my friends! I did a post about it that you can read here

July: Learning how to flip people in Cappoiera class at dance intensive

August:Won a drawing contest that my neighbor hosted

September: Did a (GREAT) first double pirrouette

October: Walking to a downtown festival with my friend where we got to see some of the girls from our dance studio (the company girls) dance, eat some sherbet, get our faces painted, and eat snowcones all for $5 each!

November: Writing my NaNoWriMo novel

December: Getting a dog :)

I also want to send out a big thank you, which includes a speech first (of course :P). This year (in March) when I started this blog, I didn't think I'd get any hits, any comments, or any anything. Well I was wrong! This month I got 395 pageviews! It's not a lot to most bloggers, but that's nearly 13 pageviews PER DAY!!!! I also have 17 lovely followers, so I just want to send a HUGE thank you to Bree, Amanda, Quinlyn, Anne, Nursenetti98, Sammy, The Golden Eagle, Britts, Bo, Shelby, Iona, Hannie, Rebecca, Hannah, Jenna, Carolyn, and Olive! You guys are the best! *Big round of applause for them* I hope for more, and for a more successful blog, but you guys are helping me kick it off. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart :) <3 (:

See you guys next year! Goodbye 2010!

NEVER Ever Ever EVER Forget...

  Luke 2

The Birth of Jesus

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

P.S. Not trying to get to religious on you here, I'm still trying to remind MYSELF of the real reason for Christmas!

Testing, 123

Like my new Signature?

Only 3 more days!!!!!

Wow! Only three more days till CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!

What's another fun part of Christmas? Well, Christmas wouldn't be complete without a cheesey Christmas dance in at least 1 class! When I say Cheesey, I mean like Jazz hands and kick line cheesey!

We had Monday classes this week, because we missed do to snow. For tap, my teacher couldn't make it, so one of the College girls (who is on Christmas break) came to teach! The class was really easy, but we did the same warm-up from our old teacher, and all our favorite combinations from her! And then comes the cheesey Christmas dance.

The dance was to "All I Want for Christmas is You" (I don't know what version), it started with lip syncing, followed by jazz hands, and finished off by a kickline! It was so fun!

Have Yourself, A Merry Little Christmas NOW!

I got tagged on Sammy's Blog for this awesome Christmas tag!

1.What is your one favorite dish to see on the table at Christmas dinner? ROLLLLLLLLLLS!!!!

2.Do you have a Nativity scene or a creche? How many pieces does it have? Yes, it has baby Jesus (duh), Mary, Joseph, 3 wise men, 2 sheperds, 2 sheep, the manger, and the angel.

3.What is your favorite Christmas movie? Miracle on 34th Street

4.If you and your family could spend this Christmas in another country, where would you go? Italy! And we would have spaghetti for breakfast and lunch and dinner AAAAAAAAAND dessert!

5.Does your grandmother usually knit you something for Christmas, or does she give you something different -- say, a Wii? My Grandma gives me my AG magazine subscription!

6.Have you ever gone out of the house wearing a reindeer headband? Nope

7.Do you usually make or buy your Christmas gifts? Usually I make something for my dance teachers (I knit one teacher a scarf, one a coffee cozey, and one a crocheted snowflake), and buy for my family

8.When do you set up your Christmas decorations? When do you take them down? Usually two weeks before Christmas and a week after Christmas.

9.What kind of activities does your church usually have at Christmas? We had a pancake christmas party at youth last week (toppings included whipped cream, chocolate syrup, M&Ms, Jelly Beans, and Sprinkles!), we do an advent craft workshop (where you either make an advent wreath or a Jesse tree banner), and Christmas Eve services.

10.Did you ever believe in Santa Claus as a child? Yup! Want to here a funny story? (I'll take that as a yes!) When I was in like, 2nd grade, I made presents for my family, and woke up at like, 11:00 to put them under the tree. So I get to the top of our steps, and look down into our living room, seeing none other than my parents putting our Christmas presents under the tree! That's how I found out that Santa wasn't real!

11.What Gospel gives your favorite account of the Christmas story? Luke! (Luke 2 to be exact!)

12.Have you ever acted in a Christmas pageant? What part did you play? My church does a kids Choir that I was in from pre-school through first grade (then they stopped doing them, but they've started again this year) and at my old "homeschool enrichment program" we did Christmas plays, in 4th grade, we did It All Happened in the Country, and my class sang a song about what Christmas is like in the city (I got to be a ballerina!), and then the next year, we did A Stranger in a Manger, and we sang a song about when the angels came to the sheperds. The whole play was like Dr. Seuss, and really cute!

13.Do you buy Christmas presents for your pets? Explain to me what I would buy for my goldfish...

14.What is your favorite Christmas tradition? Every year, my extended family gets together and we play a game called Christmas Bing (our equivelent to dirty Santa). It's where everybody buys and wraps a bunch of cheap $1-2 presents and we put them in the middle. Then, when someone gets a Bingo, they get to pick a present out of the middle. When all the presents are gone, we start stealing them! Then when we've gone through all the calls, we open them, and trade them!

I tag anyone who wants to do this!

All Kinds of New Stuff!

As you can see, there is snow on Dancing on Clouds! Cool huh? I figured out how I can change the sky (Not that grass though :P), AND I now have music!!! It's all insturmental (I can't stand any other music when I read blogs!), I also have a pole up, asking whether or not you like music, because I want to please my readers, and if music scares my readers, I want it gone! So PLEASE be honest, and majority wins!

What's up with dance? Well....

Tap: So we might do a dance, we might not, we're in a strange situation, and it's kind of personal. If things clear up, I might explain.

Ballet: We are VERY close!!!! I LOVE this dance!

Modern: WE ARE DONE! YES! DONE!!! First class to start AND finish! I love our dance!

Student Piece: We haven't had rehearsal in a while, you'll probably get updated on this on Saturday.

AND COSTUMES???

Well, the lame Detective Jasmine is back on a NEW case!!!! This time though, The Unknown Ballet Costume! DUH DUH DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH!

Here are the facts:
Costume is Red
Costume is (probably) peasenty looking
Costume also comes in yellow

My Current Guess: The red bodice, but with a long tutu!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas....

...Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five and ten glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in ev'ry store
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben;
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
is the hope of Janice and Jen;
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.

I can feel Christmas already!

The yule logs crackling

The gingerbread men baking

The Christmas tree decorating

The presents piling up under the tree

The crazy shopping

Santa Claus at the Mall

Christmas lights covering houses

Hot Chocolate steaming

Christmas music EVERYWHERE (even my ballet teacher has been playing Christmas music!)

And of Course!

We get to help Jesus Celebrate his Birthday!

Are YOU feeling the Christmas spirit yet?

These are not my pictures and I give full credit to the owners of these pictures

Re-taking this Quiz!

You might remember THIS post. Well I was reading over this, and thought I might do this quiz again! Things have changed since July!!!

You know You are a Dancer When...

...Dance is life and the rest is just spare time.

... You walk with your feet turned out subconsciously

... Your vocabulary includes Band-Aids, wedgies, sweat, tape, determination, and guts!

... You sit in a straddle when you are watching TV

.... You have blisters on your feet for life.

... Your friends are covering up their zits while you try to hide your ugly feet.

... You use rosin more than soap.

... You sit in a straddle when on the floor....comfortably.

...You have more Band-Aids on your feet from dance than holes in Swiss cheese! (let's just say I COMPLETELY beat up my feet at modern. Explanation later)

...People mistake you for a rubber band.

... Your body cracks loud enough to stop class but you don’t hear it.

...Pirouette and fouette are the two main words in your vocabulary.

... Your feet have more blisters than toes.

... You stand turn out in PE classes

... You pointe you toes even during sit-ups.

... You dance down the hallway instead of walk.

... You use empty hallways to practice grand jete.

... You do grande jetes in the parking lot and down the streets.

... You know most barres aren’t in jails.

...”Practice makes perfect” isn’t just a saying, but a way of life.

...All your friends are eating dinner while you are in class.

... You do plies and tendues while waiting in line.

...Watching TV is not a time to relax, it is a time to stretch

... Your parents work two jobs to pay for private lessons.

... You perform calmly before crowds yet suffer anxiety during school tests.

... You are well coordinated in class but trip over your own feet walking

...A new leotard makes you whole day

...Every hard floor is like a place for practicing.

... You know the frog isn’t an animal, but a stretch.

... You use every handrail you see for practicing your fouettes.

... Your dad bought stock in Band-Aid.

... You actually sit up straight in your chair at school.

... You hear classical music and you need to dance.

... You actually DREAM of wearing those heavy, expensive, netting-ridden tutus.

... You don’t dance for a week, and even your brother notices.

...The top shelf in your closet is stuffed with your old and dance shoes. (Well more like bottom drawer)

... Your friends ask you to over split “just for fun!”

... You have an entire drawer devoted to your dance stuff.

... You have washboard abs from those 100 sit-ups before each class.

... You own 25 pairs of shoes...but 20 of them are for dance.

... You have bigger muscles than all the boys in school. (I'm homeschooled, so I only have wimpy brothers)

...Everything you do has to do with dance.

... You promise to never stop dancing... like an energizer bunny that just keeps going.

... Your calves look like softballs because they are so big.

... You suddenly can’t count past 8

... You can learn the dances to music videos like that (snaps fingers).

...You’re disgusted when you see a picture of a dancer with pointe shoe ribbons tied up to her knees.

...You say all kinds of dance terms (in French) in front of your non dancing friends and tell them it’s a secret language. (I could if I wanted to)

...all the things you get for Christmas relate to dance.

...When you spell “point” you always mess up and spell it “pointe”

...When those ballerina Barbies irritate you because they aren’t turned out and can’t bend their arms!

...When you are walking you count your steps, but only go up to 8 and start all over again.

...Before everything you do you say 5,6,7,8

...You laugh at a non-dancer when they say their feet hurt.

...You never leave home with out your hair spray and bobby pins.

...You have fewer toenails than anybody you know.

…You can talk about ballet all day long to people that don't care.

... You stand en pointe in your shoes when talking to friends.

... Your friends say they went shoe shopping and you ask them if they got a hard or medium shank.

... You pointe you toes during pull-ups for gym class.

...When you can't sit still when you hear music.

...You lecture your friends when they draw pictures of ballerinas with pointe shoe ribbons tied up to their knees.

... You bend over to pick up something and your leg shoots up to a 180* angle.

...You don't mind when people tell you your feet stink.

...You get disgusted when you see cheerleaders because they never pointe their toes.

...Glitter is imbedded in you skin for life.

...All the boys at school are afraid of you because you can kick so high. (again, homeschooled, but both the boys in my ballet class are scared of me for that reason)

...Instead of calling rooms "rooms" you call them "studios"

...When you go to get your hair cut you tell them to cut it long enough to be able to put it in a bun.

...You consider tights a fashion accessory.

...Your computer desktop is full of pictures from your recital

...You miss more school for dance competitions/festivals/performances than your do for being sick

...You can rattle off the name of every pointe shoe brand in the dance store

...When you refer to half time of a football game as "intermission"

...You don't have to paint your toe nails...they are already pink and red
...You hair has a permanent line in it from wearing it in a ponytail. (No joke, I seriously do, even after I wash it)

...All your friends make fun of you because you always either stand in B+ or 5th position.

...You dye your hair just because it will look better on stage.

...You don't think it is that weird when a boy wears tights.

...You have memorized every color tights of they sell at the local dancewear store.

...Every song that comes on the radio you know a combo to.

...You noticed every mistake made on any dance movie or TV show.

...You have ever fallen asleep in the splits.

...You have ever said "200 sit-ups no prob."

...Your friends try to tie your feet together because you don't stop moving, EVER!

...You have more pairs of dance shoes than street shoes

...You start stretching whenever sitting on the floor

...You turn conversation to dance without noticing

...The first impression other people have on you is YOU DANCE

...You point your toes when walking

...You can't remember the last time when you weren't sore from dancing

...Everything you do has to do with dance

...When you talk about a friend being your first partner people think your being vulgar. (YES I have had a guy partner before)

...You have become attached to your pointe shoes. (It took me 10 minutes to get my pointe shoe off after ballet the other day)

...You perform well under stress.

...Your saying is... It doesn’t hurt 'till the bone shows.

...You hear classical music and your muscles start to twitch.

...Classical music comes on and the first word that pops into your head is 'dance'.

... The bell rings at school and you start to clap and then go up and thank your teacher.

... You spot while spinning in the computer chair.

I am 93% dancer!!!!! I can see the improvement, probably cause most the things that didn't apply last time, had to do with pointe, but at the time, I was taking 45 minutes of pointe per week, and now I'm taking 3 1\2 hours!

WOW\EW

                                                       Check out this new "trend".

What they are: They are called "ballet boots". As you can see, it's a pointe shoe, with a heel, and laces down the front.

How I feel about them: Personally, I find them tacky, and not to mention DANGEROUS! I mean, you have to have a couple years of dance training to go en pointe, and even then, you have to slowly build up strength to be en pointe for a long time. Thus, most likely, dancers won't wear these, just normal people. They will fall, and break there ankle VERY easily.

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!

I whip my hair back and forth, I have a crook in my neck

You guessed it, last night in tap, we danced to that super popular song, "Whip my Hair" by Willow Smith. Not my favorite song ever, but we all got to take our hair out of our ponytails!!! Let's just say, hair was flying everywhere.... I don't have REALLY long hair (Just below the shoulder), but it's so thick that it was a little crazy (I'm not looking forward to brushing it this morning). It was a really fun combination!!! Unfortunately, I have a crook in my neck now....

Ballet: We aren't making to much progress... We're about halfway through

Tap: I'm not so sure if we are doing a dance, because we did a whip my hair combination instead....

Modern: AWEEEEEEEEEESOME!!!!!!!!! It looks super awesome! So amazing! Simply astonishing!

Student Piece: We made a lot of tracks this past week, we don't have rehearsal this week, and we might moved to Fridays next week BECAUSE....

... I might have told you that we are moving to a new building, and we already sold someone else our old building. Well, they are kicking us out in December, and the new building isn't going to be ready yet. So we will temporarily move to an ice rink where they have 1 studio. Because they only have one studio, I my Ballet 4 class is combined with Ballet 3, my Modern 3 class is combined with Modern 2, and my Jass 4 class is combined with Jazz 3.... Not to excited about that, but oh well, it's only for 3 weeks...

Detective Jasmine is LAME

So we are not wearing what I thought we were, BUT we did get to try on our modern costumes yesterday!!!!

We have the pink and orange ones. They look awful in the picture, but GORGEOUS in real life. The colors aren't as vivid, and the girl in the picture is at a weird angle so you can't see the dress very well.

I LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!

Happy Birthday Quinlyn!!!

Today is a very special friend of mine's birthday! QUINLYN!

Last year I did a birthday video tribute. I had the tribute al lready this year, then we got a new computer, so sadly, my tribute got deleted. Sorry :(

Besides! It's good to be different! So this year, I'm gonna do an acrostic!

Quirky- (In a good way) She is full of craziness and silliness
Upbeat- Quinlyn is always full of life, and happiness
Indestructable- You cannot pull Quinlyn apart. She is strong, and will not let someone get the best of her
Nifty- Quinlyn is very creative in everything! Especially her knitting and photography
Loyal- Quinlyn always keeps her promises and always remember to call you when she's supposed to
Youthful- She easily ignores people who tell her she's to old for things
Nice- She is sweet and loving, always trying to build people up, and NEVER to tear them down

I hope you liked it Quinlyn! Have a FABULOUS birthday!

P.S. I'm still working on your present, you should receive it in a week or two!

Detective Jasmine is on the case!

What case? The case of the unknown modern costume (DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNN!). Yesterday, November 11, 2010, around  5:30 P.M. at my dance studio, I heard some important news.

"I FOUND THE PERFECT COSTUME FOR MODERN 3! But I can't find the picture" says the director.

"What does it look like?" Asked the Modern 2 teacher.

"It's got one strap, it's got a strip across the bodice, it is flowy on top, and shorts on the bottom. It comes in multiple colors."

We didn't see a picture, but I'm gonna try and make a few guesses of what our costume might be!

Wow, Detective Jasmine is lame. That's all I could find. Oh well :P

Just can't put my pen down! (well more like Keyboard)

Yes! I am writing! What am I writing? I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED!!!!! I am writing a novel for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).

My Novel is called "Alone in the Dark"  Here's my summary:

"10 year old Chastity Grace was born blind, deaf, and mute. Her parents were wicked to her, they beat her, and tortured her. Chastity Grace couldn't cry out or merely make a noise for help. One day, she felt a vibration, and her eyes and ears opened up, for a brief moment. Using this special power Chastity Grace ran away from home. Along the way of finding her new life, Chastity Grace starts to understand how she is sometimes able see, hear, and speak. Chastity has a lot of fun living her new life, and trying to meet her biggest goal, permanently being able to see."

I'm going for 10,000 words, but so far it's kind of hard to fit time to right in, so I'm only at 2,815.

Are you doing NaNoWriMo? What do you think of my novel?

I need to start posting more!!!

Sorry, COME ON!!! 11 hours!!! Forgive me here!

Ballet: I don't remember if I told you this or not, but my ballet 3 class is doing a dance! It's to a song from Coppellia. We have only done the entrance, but we just started.

Tap: We are gonna do a dance for tap! We haven't started yet.

Student piece: It's about Children on the playground! I love that! We are pretty far along!

Modern: Fabulous, simply fabulous! We are pretty far, and our dance is looking great!

How's the rest of classes? Pretty good! Pointe is getting harder, and we are learning new things :)

For tap, my teacher said she wants to move another girl and me up after dance concert!!! We also learned the this really fast, hard dance (but so awesome and fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) called Ode to Starbucks!

Yes I mean this! We didn't learn the whole dance, just a section. But my teacher told us in the real dance, it starts where everyone is standing around drinking coffee. But then they get all hyped up and start tap dancing (ridiculously fast mind you!), and then they slow down cause they need to drink more coffee, and then the process keeps going, but then at the end, they all die, cause they are low on energy, and Starbucks is closed. *faint* HOW HORRIBLE! SIMPLY HORRIBLE!

My Christmas Wishlist

So you are probably thinking that it's a little early for me to think about Christmas....  Here's what I want!

                      1. A New Leotard (mine will be black)

             2. A Dance Sweater (Light Blue!)
3. Another Pair of Tights
4. An Absolutely ADORABLE Pair of Legwarmers (the black ones!
5. A New Pair of Ballet Slippers (those will probably wait till my birthday in February)

WOWSERS!!! BUSY!!!

OK, so technically, I'm not THAT busy, cause I'm on fall break. But dance wise, YES.

Modern: So last night our teacher was at a wedding (I think!) so we had a sub, and just went over the dance.
SC: We start rehearsal for Student Choreography TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then we've been having Parent Observation this week, and next week. Real fun... Parents staring at you while you are trying dance. I only let my mom watch because she'd be heart-broken if I said no.

I think I already told you about doing ballet 3 en pointe. Let's just say that my shoes are so broken down, that I stumbled every single balance in front of 15 people (including my mom.)

Now for the happy news:
I ORDERED NEW POINTE SHOES YESTERDAY!
I can't wait for them to come!

More exciting news!

Let's start with the great news!!! So you know that I'm doing three levels of ballet, Ballet 3, Ballet 3x, and Ballet 4. You MIGHT know that I wear deshanked pointe shoes for Ballet 3, and barre in 3x. Well NOW, I get to do those classes in my REAL pointe shoes, and go all the way up!!!!!!!!!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!!!

(Not to mention I'm eating a slice a pizza right now :D)

We added a lot more to our dance!!!! It's really fun! When my mom came to pick me up she said "Is that your dance concert music? You got really great music this year!!!" I'd say overall, we are doing really good considering that we have till JANUARY to learn it all!

Hello blog

WOW, it's been a long time since I've posted.

So, anyway, DANCE CONCERT (not recital) is coming up soon! It's an advanced student performance that we do in January. I will probably only be in 1 dance, but there is a possibility of being in up to 4 dances. Because of dance concert, we are going to start:

First off! We started our modern piece on Thursday! IT IS AWESOME!!!! Our dance is about direction change, and we have AMAZINGLY AWESOME music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Secondly, Today is the audition for the student pieces. Every year, the Modern 4 girls get to each choreograph a dance, and the modern 2 & 3 girls audition to be in there dance. I'm gonna audition, but I don't expect to get in. I'm mostly going for the experience.

3 Great, Ballet Related Books!

So I've already done leotard reviews, now onto book summaries!

Marie, Dancing- Carolyn Meyer
Marie, Dancing is a book about a young girl named Marie (duh) who grew up during The French Revolution. She lives with her Mother and two sisters, 1 older, 1 younger. Marie and sisters all dance for the Paris Opera. Unfortunately, Marie's mother has a serious drinking problem,  and her sister becomes a selfish criminal, it takes a ton of courage and strength to for Marie to get through life. Later on, Marie is offered a job posing for Edgar Degas and also, a  promise from him to make her a star!

This book is a FABULOUS book, but it is also extremely sad. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars

To Dance, a ballerina's graphic novel- Siena Cherson
To Dance is a great auto biography about a girl growing up, wanting to be a dancer. It talks all about the way dancers see the world, the stress of school with dance on top of it, and the life as a student at The School of American Ballet. It is a graphic novel (like a comic book!) so it's heavy on pictures and light on words (my kind of book!  It does have a story line, which I'll leave to you as a surprise!

This is yet another AMAZING book, I give it 4 out of 5 stars!

A Very Young Dancer- Jill Krementz
A Very Young Dancer is all about a little girl named Stephanie who dances at The School of American Ballet. She talks all about what it's like to be a dancer, and go to ballets, and in the second half of the book, she talks all about being cast as Mary in the Nut Cracker! This book has GORGEOUS photographs! Unfortunately, it is out of print, so it's hard to find copies of.

This is my all time favorite ballet book! I give it 5 out of 5 stars!

Best Way to do a Double Pirouette!

I'm such a genius! I did a GREAT double pirouette yesterday! Here's how to do a good one:

Do the combination your teacher is telling you to do, when you get to the double, forget that it is a double and remember half way through the first rotation, then keep going, and land once you've gone around twice!!!

This works for me!

I know, that was a short, lame post, I have something better to post about soon, but I'm waiting for an e-mail.

No Title necessary

I do not dance because I am happy, I am happy because I dance.

I'm spinning again!

First of all! I did come up with some choreography for my "signature line". My teacher LOVED it!

And when I say I'm spinning, I do not mean spinning, I simply mean "turning." We don't spin in ballet, just turn. And yes! I have been turning! In fact, today in ballet we started DOUBLE PIROUETTES!!!!!!!!!!! My teacher said that my first double was really good! :D I very happy that he thought it was so nice, because I generally don't like doing them, nor am I very good at them. (HEY! IF YOU ARE A NON-DANCER, AND LAUGHING, I WANT TO SEE YOU DO A DOUBLE ROTATION ON ONE FOOT KEEPING PROPER ALIGNMENT!!!)

OH! And pointe is going very well! We got to do 3 center combinations today! One was really hard! It was 8 counts of bourrees while doing 1st port de bras! (bare with me if you don't understand!) It was difficult! But I managed (somehow.)

Modern was awesome again this week! I'm the youngest, which I love! I find it special being the youngest because it means I'm the best at that style for my age! We got to do my favorite combination!!!

The Earth Keeps Spinning, but I'm Stuck!

The earth is constantly spinning on it's axis so that we have a day and a night and blah blah blah blah......

YES! I KNOW ALL THAT!!! But I feel STUCK! Stuck on what? My modern comp! Some sort of signature line.... movement across the floor....

If only she meant THAT kind of signature... Do you like my signature? WHY THANK YOU! I think I'll use it!
