Saying Good Bye...

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:Or Christ, that person is a new creation. The old has gone, the new is here.  -2 Corinthians 5:17

Well, we aren't exactly a new creation YET. But the old is about gone, and the new is about here. And next year is a new creation. Today has made me think of that verse. Anyway. 2010 has been a FABULOUS, blessed year. I have learned so much, and it's just been all around wonderful. I'm sad to see such a pleasent year up and gone. As a quick reflection on the year, I want to tell you some highlights\favorite memories from each month of 2010.

January: First year performing in the Advanced Student Concert at dance

February: Turning 12

March: Getting this blog!

April: I got my 2010-2011 schedule and saw that I got to move up to Modern 3! Since my studio changed the levels, modern 2 would be like modern 3, modern 3 like modern 4, etc. So when I moved up from Modern 2 to Modern 3, it was like moving up from Modern 2 to Modern 4.

May: Completed my first year of middle school

June: Eating dinner in between shows at the recital with all my friends! I did a post about it that you can read here

July: Learning how to flip people in Cappoiera class at dance intensive

August:Won a drawing contest that my neighbor hosted

September: Did a (GREAT) first double pirrouette

October: Walking to a downtown festival with my friend where we got to see some of the girls from our dance studio (the company girls) dance, eat some sherbet, get our faces painted, and eat snowcones all for $5 each!

November: Writing my NaNoWriMo novel

December: Getting a dog :)

I also want to send out a big thank you, which includes a speech first (of course :P). This year (in March) when I started this blog, I didn't think I'd get any hits, any comments, or any anything. Well I was wrong! This month I got 395 pageviews! It's not a lot to most bloggers, but that's nearly 13 pageviews PER DAY!!!! I also have 17 lovely followers, so I just want to send a HUGE thank you to Bree, Amanda, Quinlyn, Anne, Nursenetti98, Sammy, The Golden Eagle, Britts, Bo, Shelby, Iona, Hannie, Rebecca, Hannah, Jenna, Carolyn, and Olive! You guys are the best! *Big round of applause for them* I hope for more, and for a more successful blog, but you guys are helping me kick it off. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart :) <3 (:

See you guys next year! Goodbye 2010!

NEVER Ever Ever EVER Forget...

  Luke 2

The Birth of Jesus

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

P.S. Not trying to get to religious on you here, I'm still trying to remind MYSELF of the real reason for Christmas!

Testing, 123

Like my new Signature?

Only 3 more days!!!!!

Wow! Only three more days till CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!

What's another fun part of Christmas? Well, Christmas wouldn't be complete without a cheesey Christmas dance in at least 1 class! When I say Cheesey, I mean like Jazz hands and kick line cheesey!

We had Monday classes this week, because we missed do to snow. For tap, my teacher couldn't make it, so one of the College girls (who is on Christmas break) came to teach! The class was really easy, but we did the same warm-up from our old teacher, and all our favorite combinations from her! And then comes the cheesey Christmas dance.

The dance was to "All I Want for Christmas is You" (I don't know what version), it started with lip syncing, followed by jazz hands, and finished off by a kickline! It was so fun!

Have Yourself, A Merry Little Christmas NOW!

I got tagged on Sammy's Blog for this awesome Christmas tag!

1.What is your one favorite dish to see on the table at Christmas dinner? ROLLLLLLLLLLS!!!!

2.Do you have a Nativity scene or a creche? How many pieces does it have? Yes, it has baby Jesus (duh), Mary, Joseph, 3 wise men, 2 sheperds, 2 sheep, the manger, and the angel.

3.What is your favorite Christmas movie? Miracle on 34th Street

4.If you and your family could spend this Christmas in another country, where would you go? Italy! And we would have spaghetti for breakfast and lunch and dinner AAAAAAAAAND dessert!

5.Does your grandmother usually knit you something for Christmas, or does she give you something different -- say, a Wii? My Grandma gives me my AG magazine subscription!

6.Have you ever gone out of the house wearing a reindeer headband? Nope

7.Do you usually make or buy your Christmas gifts? Usually I make something for my dance teachers (I knit one teacher a scarf, one a coffee cozey, and one a crocheted snowflake), and buy for my family

8.When do you set up your Christmas decorations? When do you take them down? Usually two weeks before Christmas and a week after Christmas.

9.What kind of activities does your church usually have at Christmas? We had a pancake christmas party at youth last week (toppings included whipped cream, chocolate syrup, M&Ms, Jelly Beans, and Sprinkles!), we do an advent craft workshop (where you either make an advent wreath or a Jesse tree banner), and Christmas Eve services.

10.Did you ever believe in Santa Claus as a child? Yup! Want to here a funny story? (I'll take that as a yes!) When I was in like, 2nd grade, I made presents for my family, and woke up at like, 11:00 to put them under the tree. So I get to the top of our steps, and look down into our living room, seeing none other than my parents putting our Christmas presents under the tree! That's how I found out that Santa wasn't real!

11.What Gospel gives your favorite account of the Christmas story? Luke! (Luke 2 to be exact!)

12.Have you ever acted in a Christmas pageant? What part did you play? My church does a kids Choir that I was in from pre-school through first grade (then they stopped doing them, but they've started again this year) and at my old "homeschool enrichment program" we did Christmas plays, in 4th grade, we did It All Happened in the Country, and my class sang a song about what Christmas is like in the city (I got to be a ballerina!), and then the next year, we did A Stranger in a Manger, and we sang a song about when the angels came to the sheperds. The whole play was like Dr. Seuss, and really cute!

13.Do you buy Christmas presents for your pets? Explain to me what I would buy for my goldfish...

14.What is your favorite Christmas tradition? Every year, my extended family gets together and we play a game called Christmas Bing (our equivelent to dirty Santa). It's where everybody buys and wraps a bunch of cheap $1-2 presents and we put them in the middle. Then, when someone gets a Bingo, they get to pick a present out of the middle. When all the presents are gone, we start stealing them! Then when we've gone through all the calls, we open them, and trade them!

I tag anyone who wants to do this!

All Kinds of New Stuff!

As you can see, there is snow on Dancing on Clouds! Cool huh? I figured out how I can change the sky (Not that grass though :P), AND I now have music!!! It's all insturmental (I can't stand any other music when I read blogs!), I also have a pole up, asking whether or not you like music, because I want to please my readers, and if music scares my readers, I want it gone! So PLEASE be honest, and majority wins!

What's up with dance? Well....

Tap: So we might do a dance, we might not, we're in a strange situation, and it's kind of personal. If things clear up, I might explain.

Ballet: We are VERY close!!!! I LOVE this dance!

Modern: WE ARE DONE! YES! DONE!!! First class to start AND finish! I love our dance!

Student Piece: We haven't had rehearsal in a while, you'll probably get updated on this on Saturday.

AND COSTUMES???

Well, the lame Detective Jasmine is back on a NEW case!!!! This time though, The Unknown Ballet Costume! DUH DUH DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH!

Here are the facts:
Costume is Red
Costume is (probably) peasenty looking
Costume also comes in yellow

My Current Guess: The red bodice, but with a long tutu!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas....

...Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five and ten glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in ev'ry store
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben;
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
is the hope of Janice and Jen;
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.

I can feel Christmas already!

The yule logs crackling

The gingerbread men baking

The Christmas tree decorating

The presents piling up under the tree

The crazy shopping

Santa Claus at the Mall

Christmas lights covering houses

Hot Chocolate steaming

Christmas music EVERYWHERE (even my ballet teacher has been playing Christmas music!)

And of Course!

We get to help Jesus Celebrate his Birthday!

Are YOU feeling the Christmas spirit yet?

These are not my pictures and I give full credit to the owners of these pictures

Re-taking this Quiz!

You might remember THIS post. Well I was reading over this, and thought I might do this quiz again! Things have changed since July!!!

You know You are a Dancer When...

...Dance is life and the rest is just spare time.

... You walk with your feet turned out subconsciously

... Your vocabulary includes Band-Aids, wedgies, sweat, tape, determination, and guts!

... You sit in a straddle when you are watching TV

.... You have blisters on your feet for life.

... Your friends are covering up their zits while you try to hide your ugly feet.

... You use rosin more than soap.

... You sit in a straddle when on the floor....comfortably.

...You have more Band-Aids on your feet from dance than holes in Swiss cheese! (let's just say I COMPLETELY beat up my feet at modern. Explanation later)

...People mistake you for a rubber band.

... Your body cracks loud enough to stop class but you don’t hear it.

...Pirouette and fouette are the two main words in your vocabulary.

... Your feet have more blisters than toes.

... You actually DREAM of wearing those heavy, expensive, netting-ridden tutus.

... You don’t dance for a week, and even your brother notices.

...You perform well under stress.

...Your saying is... It doesn’t hurt 'till the bone shows.

...You hear classical music and your muscles start to twitch.

...Classical music comes on and the first word that pops into your head is 'dance'.

... The bell rings at school and you start to clap and then go up and thank your teacher.

... You spot while spinning in the computer chair.

I am 93% dancer!!!!! I can see the improvement, probably cause most the things that didn't apply last time, had to do with pointe, but at the time, I was taking 45 minutes of pointe per week, and now I'm taking 3 1\2 hours!

WOW\EW

                                                       Check out this new "trend".

What they are: They are called "ballet boots". As you can see, it's a pointe shoe, with a heel, and laces down the front.

How I feel about them: Personally, I find them tacky, and not to mention DANGEROUS! I mean, you have to have a couple years of dance training to go en pointe, and even then, you have to slowly build up strength to be en pointe for a long time. Thus, most likely, dancers won't wear these, just normal people. They will fall, and break there ankle VERY easily.
