DONE WITH CLASSES FOR THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!

I had my last class of the year yesterday! :'(, Time sure does fly by!

So, attendance wise....

This year, I had 200 classes

And I went to 196\200 classes!

Here are my reasons for missing those 4 classes:

I missed 3x once, because my friend had an extra ticket to the Rockette's Christmas Spectacular, and afterwards, I would get to spend the night at her house. I went to a makeup class for it though

I missed 3x again, because it was my parent's anniversery, and we were staying at some friend's of ours' house, and I could get someone to take me. I went to a makeup class for it though

I missed ballet 3 thu, and 3x because I was sick.

THAT'S IT! I think 196\200 is pretty impressive!

Status update:

Modern: This is the class that I'm MOST nervous about. We were VERY rushed with the choreography :( The good new is, is that since the dance is SUPPOSED to be silly. So people won't notice mistakes very easily.

Tap: THIS IS MY FAVORITE DANCE!!!!!!!! IT'S GONNA BE SOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!! EVERYTHING IS ALL WORKED OUT, WE HAVE PRACTICE FACING THE BACK MULTIPLE TIMES, I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ballet thu: It's pretty good! The ending is really cute, and it all went together pretty well!

Ballet sat: It looks REALLY great! My teacher did a good job with choreography, and we have all been doing it pretty well!
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited for the recital.

Wow!

I have a REALLY funny story to tell y'all!


Well my AAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Tap teacher, used to dance on broadway and for one musical, she was an Indian. One of the dances she did for that was a rain dance. So she pulled some choreography from that dance, for my class' dance.

Now she keeps saying we are doing a rain pow-wow dance.

I'M NOT JOKING! Literally, EVERY week, it has rained on Wednesday (the day we have class.) The sky was blue today, and then when we were getting our shoes, we suddenly heard rain POUNDING on the roof!!!!!!!! It was sooooooo funny! Then we burst out laughing and ran over to tell my tap teacher!

BTW, I do NOT, hear me NOT believe in superstition!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!

I just HAD to tell you all this! Ya know the pointe\tap shoes I showed you in my last post? I thought it was just a photoshop. Then I saw it said Sansha on the bottom, so I figured someone cut the bottom of a Sansha tap shoe, and attatched it to the pointe shoe.

BUT!!!!

Guess what?


THEY REALLY SELL THEM!

The other day I was searching for pictures of pointe shoes, and I found a HILARIOUS picture that I HAD to show y'all!

I love tap dancing in my regular pointe shoes before class... I wonder where you get these, I need a pair! :o)

So for your status update:

Modern: We are FINALLY done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's pretty good! I also found out that... MY CLASS GET'S TO OPEN THE SHOW! YEP! We are the first class to dance! Although, it wouldn't have been my first choice to do it in those RIDICULOUS unitards! I'll get over it... Eventually

Tap: Good as ever! I have the part at the end down now, so I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!

Ballet thu: WE STILL DON'T HAVE OUR END POSE YET! I'm kind of frustrated about that... since we have 1 class left!

Ballet sat: It's looking very pretty! I'm very excited about that class to!


I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT WE ARE ON THE LAST WEEK OF CLASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm really sad that I only have two classes left with my tap teacher. SHE IS SO AMAZING! I DON'T WANT HER TO GO! :'(

Time Steps!

I thought that since I talk about dance so much, I should post a video of ME dancing! In this video, I'm doing 4 single time steps, 4 double time steps, 4 triple time steps, and 4 wing time steps. My wing time steps aren't very good, I'm still working on them.



Yes that video was made in my bathroom! LOL! It's the only place where I can tap dance that makes sound, but doesn't ruin my shoes or floor.

I'll do a status update tommorrow or Monday.
But I will tell you we STILL aren't done for one class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I'll try and make a video of me en pointe soon.

OK, so here is the story.

Today I had tap class, and it was pretty fun. We started by working on the dance for recital, then we did something across the floor, and then we played tap tag. Well after we practiced the dance, our teacher had us sit down and start talking to us.

I don't think I've told you all this, but she is going to teach next year. We are getting a new teacher to replace her for the time being for mulitple reasons. So my teacher started telling us about how she wanted us all to be in Advanced Tap instead of Intermediate. The director said no, we weren't good enough.

Well, then, my teacher told us that she wants us to work EXTREMELY hard for the new teacher, so that we can move up. We were all sitting there thinking, "I DON'T WANT TO MOVE UP!", I don't think we can do it, but I don't want to let my teacher down! And even if I do get to Adv. tap, I think it will be REALLY hard!

So that is my quick EEP!!!!! So yah

Great job Lizzy!!!! My favorite dance of yours was "Outsiders". My main thought during that dance was 'Why can't I do cartwheels in my modern dance?'


Great job Amanda!!!! I REALLY liked 'Welcome to the Show', I thought that it was a very fun, and upbeat dance! And Britt Nicole is my favorite singer... :)



OK, so now for status update:

Modern: WE STILL HAVE 20 SECONDS LEFT TO CHOREOGRAPH... AND WE ONLY HAVE 2 CLASSES, DRESS REHEARSAL, AND RECITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EEP! But we did add grabbing eachothers waists, and pulling the shadow that Peter Pan tries capturing away... IT'S FUNNY! And we also mock the Crocodile! :)

Tap: FABULOUS! I'm so excited! I have 4 more classes for that though, because we also have tap 2 to practice! I have tap tonight! I like going to tap 2, I get to see my little friend *****! (we were in tap together last year, but we are in different classes this year.)

Ballet thu: We still need to do our end pose... I missed class on Thursday cause I was sick... BUT my teacher was out of town, so they practiced the dance a few times with a sub. We have 3 classes left for that class. A few months ago, it snowed, and we missed class, so we still have a makeup class.


Ballet sat: It's done, but we need to practice a little bit more. It's a very pretty, and neat dance! We have 2 classes left for that dance.

Today is Giannna's dance recital! I just wanted to do a quick shout out to say good luck! I'm sure you'll be great!

The Usual.... AND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE GOT OUR BALLET COSTUMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ballet 1 (who is in the same scene, but has a different dance) Has the same thing only purple!!!! Our costume also has a really pretty flower to go in your hair. I will try and take pictures (with my new camera!!!!!) of the flower, and my tap costume!!!!!

So, status:

Modern: We have about 30 seconds left still :(. Not to terribly great, but let's make the best of it. OUR DANCE IS SUPER FUNNY! We are all ganging up on Peter Pan! He he, I like it!

Tap: WE ARE DONE!!!!!!!!! We have to finish our dance in a huge, second position grande plie, IN SKIMPY SKIRTS. The skirt doesn't bother me cause we are wearing tights, but it's gonna look (and feel) weird to do. The end is really fast, but really fun! We didn't have tap the day of the flood :'(, but everything is coming back together (except the soccer fields next to our house, it's still Lake soccer field :).

Ballet 3 thu: We still have to strike a pose, but other than that. We are finished. I have to do Chanie turns ALL BY MYSELF (OK so it's only 3, but I have to do them by myself ONSTAGE where you can't really spot anything.) My teacher only picked 4 (out of 8 girls) to do the turns, so I do feel honored to be one of the girls who were picked!

Ballet 3 Sat: It's done (which you already know) and it's coming together quite nicely! I'm pretty happy!

So that's it!

Oh yah, and Carmel's recital is on Saturday, and I'm REALLY excited about going with my mom and little brother!

Floods and More classes

From now until the end of the year, I have dance EVERY SINGLE DAY EACH WEEK (except Sundays), because my tap teacher wants us to come to tap 2 on Mondays so we can practice our dance with them.

I REALLY HOPE WE HAVE CLASS TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We might not because we have had some serious storms, tornadoes, and FLOODS this past weekend... Observe this photo!

Here is your status update

Modern: Haven't had class since I last posted

Tap: Miss Renee took out the hardest part! I'm kind of sad about that though, because we hardly get to do TAP. The point of recital is to show off what we have learned! We aren't doing grab-offs, wing timesteps, shikibops, OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. Just toe-heels, which you learn in.... Tap intro. Other than that, it going pretty well!

Ballet 3 thu: We are ALMOST finished! I'm so excited! Basically all we have left, is posing at the end. My ballet teacher said that she found a picture on the internet of fairies and they are in different poses. This week she is bringing the photo, and we get to pick which fairy we want to be, and recreate that mural (with ourselves!)

Ballet 3 sat: WE ARE DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We just need to fix some parts up a little bit!


Costume wise:
